Most police departments struggle to hire diverse candidates. These police departments, for now, do not reflect the communities they serve. Diversity Talent Partners is in discussions with numerous police departments in and outside of North Carolina on how to deliver a diverse pool of police officer candidates. The obstacles we face are lower pay for new police officers, dangers that are prevalent with the job, and many college grads gravitating to more lucrative fields.
